Rest Won the Cooling Sheets Category at the Prevention Australia Health & Fitness Awards 2026
Rest won the Cooling Sheets category, in the Recovery & Wellness Tools section, of the Prevention Australia Health & Fitness Awards 2026.
The winning entry, listed exactly as it appears on the awards page: "Rest Evercool Cooling Starter Sheet Set + Evercool Cooling Blanket Comforter." You don't have to take our word for any of this. Go and look at the page.
Why this one's worth paying attention to
Awards pages are easy to be sceptical of, and fair enough. So here's what makes this one different from a badge we made ourselves and stuck on a homepage.
The 2026 list runs to 208 categories across eight sections, judged by an independent expert panel, including Sabrina Rogers, who we'll come back to. Cooling Sheets is one category inside Recovery & Wellness Tools, sitting on the same list as wins for Apple, Nike and Shokz elsewhere in the awards. We're not claiming we beat any of those brands at anything, they're in different categories entirely, but it tells you the kind of company the list keeps and the seriousness of the exercise.
Prevention is a national health masthead, still in print, published by nextmedia, with its own editorial guidelines. And in the interest of not softening the honest version of this: the awards page carries a disclosure that Prevention may earn a commission on some of the links on that page. We think that's worth saying out loud rather than leaving you to find it yourself. What that disclosure doesn't touch is the judging itself, which sits with the panel, separate from any commercial arrangement on the page.
Independent panel. Hundreds of categories. A masthead with a reputation to protect. That's the bar our sheets and comforter cleared.
What the judge actually said
Sabrina Rogers sat on the awards panel. In her published comment on the winners page, she wrote about her own experience with the product:
"As someone who suffers from hot flushes due to chemo-induced menopause, I never thought I'd sleep well again. These science-backed cooling sheets and comforter have been life-changing! I used to wake up three to five times a night in a sweat, but now it happens only rarely and my sleep has improved dramatically."
That's Sabrina Rogers, one of the judges on Prevention's panel, describing her own experience on their awards page. We're quoting her in full, in her own words, because it's hers to tell and not ours to trim.
Here's the distinction worth being precise about, though. What changed for her was her sleep environment, not her hormones. Evercool® fabric is engineered to move heat away from your skin instead of letting it build up there. That's the mechanism, and it's what the fabric does. It isn't a treatment for hot flushes, chemo-induced menopause, or the hormonal shift underneath night sweats, and we'd never suggest otherwise. If you're dealing with night sweats connected to menopause or another hormonal change, that's a conversation for your GP or a menopause-informed doctor, not a sheet set.
What she was actually testing
Strip away the personal story and what's being judged is a fabric.
Evercool®, the fabric in both the sheet set and the comforter, is lab tested to the JIS L 1927:2020 standard, the same protocol used to rate how quickly a fabric pulls heat away from skin on contact. Cotton, the fabric most sheets are made from, sits right at the bottom of that scale. Evercool comes out 4x cooler to the touch than cotton on the same test.
That's the whole mechanism, in plain terms: when your skin generates heat, the fabric touching it either holds that heat against you or moves it on. A cool-touch, SGS-tested fabric does the second. It's not doing anything to your body's thermostat. It's doing something to what happens to the heat once your body's already made it.
The specs, if you want them: Evercool® sheets and pillowcase, Qmax 0.445 W/cm² · Evercool® comforter, Qmax 0.433 W/cm² · both SGS lab tested to JIS L 1927:2020 · cotton benchmark, Qmax 0.11.
What it means for you
If you're the person reading this at 3am because the sheet under you is doing nothing about the heat, this is the part that matters: the two products Prevention's panel judged are the same two products you can buy from us right now.
The Rest Evercool® Starter Sheet Set and the Rest Evercool® Comforter, both OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, both tested to JIS L 1927:2020, the published heat-transfer standard. If you want the full breakdown of how the fabric is built and tested, that's on our science page. And if you're not sure which of our products actually fits how you sleep hot, the sleep quiz takes two minutes and points you at the right one.
Where this leaves us
We built Evercool® to move heat away from skin instead of trapping it, tested it to a published standard, and said so. An independent panel evaluated it alongside hundreds of other entries and selected it as a category winner. That's the whole story: an independent panel with a reputation to protect, putting a badge on the thing we've been saying all along.
