1. The cool-down window after evening training

Give your body time between finishing a session and getting into bed. Core temperature needs time to come back down before sleep, and going straight from a hard session into bed works against that. Where your schedule allows it, build in a buffer, even 30 to 60 minutes helps more than people expect.

2. Shower timing

A lukewarm shower after training, rather than a hot one right before bed, works with your body's natural temperature drop instead of against it. A hot shower late in the evening can delay the cool-down your body is trying to do right when you need it to happen.

3. Caffeine cutoffs

If you're using caffeine as part of a training or recovery routine (pre-workout, coffee, energy drinks), the cutoff time matters more for active people, not less. Caffeine has a long half-life, and on a night when your body is already running warm from training, added stimulant load makes it harder to settle. A sensible cutoff, generally mid-afternoon at the latest, gives your system a clearer run at winding down.

4. The room

Don't overcorrect. The instinct after a hot, sweaty session is to crank the air conditioning as low as it'll go. You don't need to freeze the room to sleep cool.
